Location/Location/Location
Well can any one out there recommend a good respectable traditional barber school in or around the following Locations/?
Orlando Fl.
South Florida
Norfolk Va.
Boston Ma.
When I say around I mean maybe a 1 hour drive time.
P.S I have done my Google search but Google doesn't always show the older shops or schools so I am posting this for hopes of a diamond in the rough

Re: Location/Location/Location
Barber school curriculum is usually dictated by the state, so it may be difficult to find a "traditional" barber school. For example, the state may mandate so many hours in chemical training, in women's styling, etc. and the school just has to go along.
The school I attended in Tennessee was, for all practical purposes, a training ground for future stylists. The vast majority of the students were young females and the emphasis was clearly on women's services. Nevertheless, it was a barber school and I got a barber license at the end of the process. Then I got to do what I wanted to do.
The best advice I can give is to visit a number of schools and see which one is the best fit for you.

Re: Location/Location/Location
Thanks for the reply . I should have been more specific in the question I was wondering if you know of any by name as I couldn't find much from Google and I am fairly new to the area.

I don't know any by name in those areas. Google or some other search engine should provide some results.

Contact your barber board there. They should have a list of schools they accept accredidation... Did I spell that right? There are a few internet and fly-by-night scams out there that are not recognized by the State Boards.
Then vist each school. You might be surprised just by walking in the door. If it is a school you do not want to be involved in, you may know right away. Forget the telephone thing... do it in person.
Get a "Junior" haircut. They need the experience and it gives you a chance to ask the pertinent questions, them to answer the ones that are still fresh in their minds. Don't worry, it will be the first of many cuts you get there if you decide to go to school there.
