New Here ... Wanted to Introduce Myself

Hello, everyone.

Ryan's the name, and I'm a prospective barber at the moment, looking forward to (hopefully) going through barbering school some time in 2014. I'm 35 years old and have spent my years since graduating from college in another profession, but a culmination of passions and personality traits (good ones!   ) have finally brought me to the decision that this is the honourable profession I now need to pursue.

Just wanted to introduce myself and say that I'm looking forward to receiving wise counsel from you guys as I get closer to school, as I work my way through school, and as I set out on my professional barbering career.

It is a great profession, you'll find some of the guys here like myself went a similar route as you. I started barbering about 5 years ago after graduating from college with a BS and bumming around with it for about 5 years. Hopefully you'll find the the answer to your questions or at least a point in the right direction here.

You will find good advice here. There are lots of helpful barbers here with lots of good ideas and tips.
Do you have your sights set in any particular barber school yet, or have you visited any? Will you be able to go full time? You can see that people's experience with their schools is varied. Have to keep the goal in sight.
Barbering is a good choice. I wish I'd gotten into it sooner.
The forum has it's slow times and faster ones. Don't let that put you off.

I've enrolled in my first set of courses at a barbering school called Retro Barbering Academy in Limerick. Incidentally, I requested access to the "Future Professionals" group now that I'm officially a registered student, but I still don't have access.
