Barber shop fire.
I lost my shop to fire early monday morning. I had no insurance, took a chance and lost. If any of you guys out there haven't got it please do so. It's a terrible feeling seeing all of your things going up in smoke and having to replace it all out of pocket. Do your self a favor call an agent and get covered I've learned the hard way.

Re: Barber shop fire.
Sorry to hear about that Marco. I would never have a business without insurance, I am surprised they let you rent a spot without having it. Hopefully, I never need it, but you just never know. Best of luck getting another one.
If I can help in anyway, I am only one state away, please let me know.

Re: Barber shop fire.
marco,
I read this last night before I retired for the evening... put off posting in hopes of finding something comforting to tell you. Still, I truly don't know what to say.
I certainly hope a barber in your area will be sympathetic to the situation and take you into his/her shop... maybe spot you any equipmemnt you need to get back to somewhat of a normal routine. It would certainly bring that shop new business and give the owner a piece of the pie.
This is the type of professionalism between barbers I would like to see forums such as this bring out in us. Actually it should already be instilled in every one of us. I wish you were here in Johnson County MO.... you would certain have a chair to cut hair from, some old clippers that still work, edgers, combs, shears.
I wish you Good Luck. You could really use some after a heart-breaking event such as that.

Re: Barber shop fire.
I have some equipment and supplies (some of which are NIB) that I would like to donate to marco. Can we get a confirmed address where we could send items like this, if we wish to?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Barber shop fire.
Marco, my heart goes out to ya. I hate to hear that happened to you. If there is anything I can do to help let me know.

Re: Barber shop fire.
Marco, i have some Andis trimmers which i cant use due to them not being 220v . If you want them i can post them from Helsinki? Give me an address and there yours .I can post them off next Monday..
Re: Barber shop fire.
I say we take it upon ourselves.to get Marco the tools.he needs. Blade has the right spirit. I can throw a pair of Andis Improved Master Clippers into the mix..
I have no real words of comfort except for.the words that got me through two deployments. "Tough times never last, tough people do."

Re: Barber shop fire.
Marco, that’s terrible. There’s almost nothing one can say that would help in a situation like this. My heart goes out to you.
Times like this I know we’d all like to help, but we’re not sure how. Please keep us updated on what you have to do to get up and running.
I like what bmharold said. Hang tough, man. Stay in the fight. We’ll do what we can to help.

I don't know what to say. You guys are unbelievable. I have no words to describe how I feel after reading your posts. So unexpected, just speachless right now. Unreal.

It's what brothers do. Can we get an address and a real name to send supplies to. Gotta get you back behind a chair.

Re: Barber shop fire.
What do you need in the shop to start working? Rotary changeable blade clippers, adjustable, and edgers. Shears, thinning shears...a sanitizer jar, combs, and brushes. I think we can make this happen.
Say, we use 3 1/2, 2, 1 1/2, 1, and 000 blades the most. Between all of us we probably have this laying around. I can do Andis Masters, a Marvy Jar, and Andis Styliner II's. We need to know what size shears and what combs Marco uses.

Re: Barber shop fire.
I really appreciate what you fellas are willing to do. It says a lot about the type of people on this forum. Just to let you know I found a building on Tuesday and signed the lease yesterday morning and began working to put another shop together. My girlfriend and barbers are helping with the work and will be coming to work at the new place. I got in around 1am this morning and looked at the forum as I often do as a way to wind down before bed. I was blown away Thanks so mush. As of yet none of us has begun to replace tools. We've been working hard to get the shop ready. I'll post some pictures of the fire and the progress of the new shop as soon as I learn to upload them. My address is 10000 Beach Drive SW unit 5 Calabash,NC 28467. My name is Marco Rooks. Thanks again

Re: Barber shop fire.
We are hoping to open Friday if all goes well with the inspections. Easter set us back a few days as the barer board and city inspectors were on holiday. Thanks to all of you for your support and generosity.
